Spotlight on Caprice
DISC’s role in the creation of the Federation Stories film illustrates all that is great and empowering about multiple agency collaborations, in work opportunities, industry relationships and real-world projects and work experience for our keen, talented and very employable digital interns!
Federation Stories was created by DISC for Linda Humpries of Paper Frogs https://www.paperfrogs.co.uk to celebrate the Co-op’s 5 year Federation Programme and the partnerships and community that ensued.
Working with the talented filmmaker and photographer Jason Lock, our internship had the amazing opportunity to be part of the research, planning, scripting, storyboarding, filming and editing process. Our interns were privileged to gain great insight and experience around production processes via Jason sharing his incredible knowledge in studio workshops and also inviting interns to get involved at each stage of the project by taking a hands-on role on production days, with shot set up, moving equipment, talent organisation and hospitality, production running as well as being responsible for the short form video and reformatting it for use on Twitter.
The Federation Stories film took centre stage at the Federation Festival held at Home in Manchester. The event was well attended by the federation community, including talks by:

Our intern Fatima was proud to work at the Federation Festival, hosted at Home, an event space in Manchester. She enjoyed being front of house and happily greeted guests and took them up to the meeting point, including Andy Burman Mayor of Greater Manchester, who later in the evening, met with our MD Rav and Head of Studio Ezra and discussed how he had engaged with the federation project and also discussed plans for the future of digital, social and skills development in and around Manchester.
